Cyprus Property Expert Constantinos Nicolaou - My Story.
DISCOVERING WHAT MY PASSION WAS, WAS NOT EASY.
Coming from a family of mechanics and builders, I’ve always been inspired by masterful engineering and functional design - those were my favourite topics at school and my hobby has till this day been classic car restorations.
After graduating with a BSc degree in Construction Management from the University of Derby in the UK and several internships and junior jobs in construction companies, my career trajectory took a turn towards customer services and management. I discovered that I was not only very good with communicating and managing people, but that I also really enjoyed it.
Then, in 2015 I had an opportunity to combine my people-skills and my technical know-how about construction. I joined efforts with a friend and helped set up and establish an estate agency in Nicosia, Cyprus. For the next 5 years, I helped people find, buy, sell, rent, lease and renovate properties (both commercial and residential) all over the island.
Being involved in almost everything to do with the property sector and seeing almost every angle related to such transactions, I discovered that there was not enough support available to first time buyers. Loans are not so easy to get, property agents have an incentive to sell high, property developers have an incentive to minimise costs by lowering quality, and everyone seemed to rely on some family member’s outdated advice. As a result, people are understandably very afraid to buy. This is bad for the economy, bad for society, bad for everyone.
Thats when I decided to become a Property Consultant.
My mission is to empower buyers, and guide them through the property market, protect their interests and ensure they get the best quality for the best price possible.
